Resin Craft Journey

Welcome new/old viewers, it is so LOVELY for you to join in on my resin journey . Feel free to sit back, relax and enjoy the read!!

When I first started getting into my resin craft journey I didn’t realize the frustrations I REALLY had in store for me. It is so EXCITING getting into a new hobby and going to all the craft stores like Hobby Lobby, Michaels, JOANN Fabric and Crafts and of course ordering online from places like Amazon, etc. The money I spent was a lot more than I expected to spend and I more than likely bought things that I really didn’t need just because I thought OMG!! “these are so pretty” hahah We Love That!! OH and have you ever watched a “couple” of videos on YouTube to watch a project tutorial got too excited and turned it off like YOU know WHAT I don’t need to watch this anymore I know EXACTLY what to do!!! Hahaha WELL, that is something you definitely DO NOT want to do, if you are new at something it is best to watch tutorial videos all the way to the end and not just 1 or 2 but spend a few days or even a week researching and watching tutorials thoroughly to avoid amateur mistakes like I have made, this mistake leads us on my journey.

I was thinking to myself as I unmolded some of my creations only to find tacky spots and miniature HOLES where apparently little BUBBLES had risen to the surface then POPPED during the curing process. OOOOH god it was such a frustrating situation when one thing after the other kept going wrong. I went from using nail polishes to eyeshadows to actual mica powders, glitters, dyes and paints. Each product presenting some type of problem that just needed me to have patience and go through the experience to learn from my mistakes so I could do it differently next time round. The key is to NEVER GIVE UP and KEEP PUSHING FORWARD because I can not tell you how many times I wanted to give up and cry because I felt like such a failure. From bad smelling epoxy’s to old yellow uncurbable epoxy to tacky UV epoxy, oh does the list go on hahaha. There was a lot of failed ruined projects and molds I had to throw away and not only did I feel like I wasted money but I felt so bad inside especially when I would look at others IG’s and see the beautiful projects they completed.

I had to learn the long way not to focus on what others are creating with their own wonderful minds but to focus on what my mind can create. Sometimes we all get too caught up looking way too closely at our mistakes and comparing ourselves to other peoples talents that we become our own worse critics. I realized through experience and time that everyone makes mistakes especially when they start something they have never done before and it’s normal but I have also learned that sometimes we start something only to discover it’s not our passion to do what we thought we were initially interested in doing, that’s ok too because nobody wants to pursue something they have no desire to do. Through all my mistakes I literally have no regrets getting into this craft. I have learned a lot and I am proud to say I have finally found my niche and I enjoy doing what I do with a passion. Through every failed project there is a lesson to learn and experience to gain.

BOO! hahah Did I startle you?? *GASP* I didn’t startle YOU?! *AWWW* Hehh I hope you all are ready for what comes next!!! Enjoyed the story? Don’t forget to hit that like button and click follow to get notified of my next story.
